If you are used to detoxing, you may notice that once you start the detoxification process you have extra blemishes. Starting a daily or seasonal skin care detoxification can brighten skin and reduce acne and redness. Diet, exercise, brushing and treatments can all help to improve the look and feel of the skin. Cut back on refined sugar. A large amount of refined sugar can cause a process called glycation, which happens when a protein or lipid bonds with a sugar molecule. This process can damage collagen and elastin in the skin.

Choose meat and dairy without hormones. An increase in hormones can produce acne. Lean toward organic protein in low amounts.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. A balanced diet of acidic and alkaline based foods will also balance the nutrients that are fed to your skin. If you don’t eat many alkaline foods, increase the amount of apples, pears, parsley, almonds and kale you eat.
Try Bikram yoga. Schedule a 90-minute session of hot yoga. Holding these special yoga postures will help to cleanse the organs, while sweating and drinking plenty of water during the session helps to clear pores of dirt and metals.
